the success of “romeo & juliet” prompts hali to launch its first own-brand swivel chairs: “othello”, an ergonomic office chair series.
hali is sold to fun-at-work-management gmbh (95 %) and di jürgen holler (5 %). the owners of fun-at-work are dr siegmund gruber, mba, mas, and christoph königslehner, mba. , who also becomes the new managing partner of hali.

during the “industry radar” market research survey by the kfp institute, hali takes the no. 1 spot as austria’s largest office furniture manufacturer for the first time. this success prompts hali to continue honing its corporate positioning and push forward with its sustainability drive.
to underline the fact that hali takes sustainability seriously, the hali logo is changed from “red” to “blue”. “blue office” is added to the company logo and the slogan “fantastisch! nachhaltig!” (awesome! sustainable!) is introduced.
hali buys joiners gupfinger möbelwerkstätten gmbh in sankt marienkirchen near schärding and expands its portfolio to include individual furniture. custom-made solutions and bespoke furniture is marketed under the hali unlimited brand from then on.
due to special achievements in the field of mechatronics, hali receives the international mechatronics award for “outstanding achievements in the implementation of industry 4.0 measures” from the industrial association of upper austria, the mechatronics cluster, linz center of mechatronics gmbh (lcm) and the austrian association of engineers and architects, which is part of the federal state group of upper austria for its unique manufacturing facility.
important steps en route to becoming the most sustainable office furniture producer: hali is FSC and PEFC certified and receives the austrian eco-label.
hali’s marketing scope is expanded to include germany in its distribution territory.
hali acquires the gruber + schlager brand and the rights to use its furniture programmes. the subsidiary gupfinger is renamed gruber + schlager möbelwerkstätten gmbh. gruber + schlager is expanded to become a competence centre for bespoke furniture at the sankt marienkirchen location.
