fantastic prospects – hali presents its first sustainability report
with the “hali blue office” concept and its commitment to unconditional sustainability, hali has established a unique selling point on the austrian market for itself. the office furniture manufacturer has committed itself to sustainability and is now presenting its first sustainability report. the company has voluntarily based its actions on the UN sustainability development goals and already meets the requirements of the 2020 climate change package. the austrian energy agency, which is responsible for the annual external audit, confirmed this for 2016.
clear positioning required
in 2015, we decided to pursue the issue of sustainability more rigorously. in an office furniture market that is characterised by interchangeability and replacement, clear positioning is essential. we at hali don’t just want to do business in a future-proof way, but also create an environment in which a pleasant, creative and productive style of work is possible. in addition, we seek to be a role model and inspiration to other companies. if a company is serious about sustainability, it must occur in every part of the company’s value chain.
in the course of the “hali blue office sustainability programme”, our logo was changed from red to blue in keeping with the idea of the “blue economy” and the “blue planet”. our commitment to doing business in way that is sustainable until our grandchildren’s generation and beyond and our vision of turning the company into something special gave rise to the “fantastic world of hali”. and the release of our first sustainability report shows that we are fully devoted to continuing down the path embarked on.
co2 emissions reduced by 47 percent, energy consumption down by 42 percent
since 2005, hali has reduced its co2 emissions by 47 per cent and its energy consumption for each item of furniture produced by 42 per cent. in addition, since 2011, 293 measures have been introduced with a view to promoting occupational health and safety. hali works on its targets both in major actions and the little things. in the case of suppliers, we look for the shortest possible delivery routes. all the furniture we manufacture bears the austrian eco-label and is pefc certified. and even at company events and in our choice of coffee, we pay attention to compliance with sustainability criteria.
